He's banged up - nothing really serious, a graze from a bullet on his forehead, a shallow slash across his ribs. He's limping slightly. But he's angry, now - he's burning and that's enough to keep him going.
He catches sight of her through the trees and breaks into a loose jog.
"Hey, Andrea!" he calls.
He catches sight of her through the trees and breaks into a loose jog.
"Hey, Andrea!" he calls.

"Hey," she says, then frowns. "You're hurt. What happened?"
no subject
"It's nothing. Arlo's here. Mags Bennet too. They're armed and pretty fuckin' dangerous. And there's..." His jaw tightens. "Me. There's me. And he already got to Rachel."
no subject
She's grateful that she has the crossbow with her now.
no subject
"And i need you to help me finish this. To..make sure they stay down."
no subject
The fact that he's told her he's here, too, hasn't escaped her notice. She's just not sure what to do with it yet.

"This is what you haven't been talking about," she says as they walk.
no subject
"Yeah," he says. "It is."

"And you," she says, adjusting the crossbow again. "I'll recognize you."
no subject
"Yeah," he says, grimly. "You'll recognise me. It's...I guess it's like if I'd never got out of Harlan. What I'd have turned into. If I'd stayed."

His hand on her arm, he brings them both to a halt.
"Hello, Raylan," says a familiar voice, low and rich and warm as apple pie. "Your Momma would have been so, so sorry to see how you've turned out."
Raylan sighs.
"You come on out here and let us see you, Mags."
no subject
"Yeah, I'm really eager for an introduction," she says.
no subject
"Here we are again, Raylan," she says, flashing a crooked smile. "Who's your friend?"

Raylan ignores her, scanning the treeline, his gun still up.
"Where Arlo, Mags?"
no subject
"You say the word, Raylan," she murmurs. "That's all."
no subject
"Hello, Arlo," he says. "You look like shit."
no subject
In that moment, she really misses her gun.
"So how long should we expect this reunion to last?"
no subject
Raylan sighs, glancing at Andrea before he turns his attention back to Arlo.
"Jesus, Arlo," he says, shaking his head. "When are you going to realise that there's nothing here to understand."
He takes a deep breath in. And then he fires.

Babies, you've got to be kind.
He brings up his gun and he ends up. There are then before Arlo can say whatever he's got his mouth open to say.
no subject
"Are you okay?" she asks.
no subject
"Be careful," he says, voice low. "It's not over yet."
no subject
"Do you think he's coming after you?" she asks. "Do we just have to wait?"
no subject
"Rachel and Jess are safe, so he won't go after them."
no subject
Maybe she's reaching, maybe she doesn't completely understand what's happening, but it makes sense to her this way.
no subject
Raylan closes his eyes and waits.
no subject
She still doesn't know what she'll do if something wearing Raylan's face comes through those trees.
no subject
And it would look a lot like what steps out of the trees. It's him, but worn thinner, worn harder, shot through with steel not silver, gun in one hand, pick-axe in the other.
"Well, hello, darlin'," he says, eyes only for Andrea.
no subject
Briefly, she glances at Raylan -- her Raylan -- looking for some kind of idea as to what she's supposed to do.
no subject
"Don't," he says, looking himself in the eye. "Don't you dare."
no subject
But she wants Raylan to tell her it's okay.
"What do you want me to do?" she asks.
no subject
He doesn't look at Andrea.
"Do it."
no subject
The bolt hits him in the throat before he has the chance to take another step.
